Welsh Crucible 2018

After periods working in the television industry and the arts sector, Kate returned to the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University to complete her PhD. She is now a Lecturer in Film Studies at the same institution where she teaches through the medium of both Welsh and English.

Her current research interests focus on screen fictions, particularly the way that landscape, place and location are represented in, and are sometimes transformed by film and television dramas.

Kate has also held some public positions, including being Vice-Chair of the Arts Council of Wales between 2012-2017. She is keen to develop public outreach activities to communicate her research to all and strategies for her research to benefit Wales.
