Rachel has a BSc honours degree in Psychobiology from the University of North London and a PhD in Psychology from Aberystwyth University. Rachel is a senior lecturer at Aberystwyth University and the Director of the Centre for Excellence in Rural Health Research. Her current research explores the use of telemedicine and technology innovation in rural health and social care; with particular interest in chronic disease and palliative care.

She actively collaborates with individuals from the health and social care sector as well as with academics from a range of disciplines such as exercise science, computer science, geography and the arts. Rachel is keen to explore opportunities to develop innovative and interdisciplinary projects that have direct impact for rural communities.
